Ok boys and girls.
We all know what I drive 5.3 liter s30 datsun.. soon to be 6.0
The car weights 2800 lbs give or take
Makes over 300 whp
Has IRS
and 3 pedals.
Best Part I have just under 10k invested in the car.
Find me a car that cost no more than 10k that has atleast 300 hp , 3 pedals , lightish , and can handle as good as a car with IRS ... This post comes from me pondering the idea of getting rid of the datassun.

I have a way to most of those currently in action, but it's a fairly unique way suited mostly to me. I can't say I'd recommend it per se.

Yes.. Its a LM4 just like a LS1 but 5.3 instead of 5.7 it's still all aluminum.

It has a slush box though... don't worry you can bolt up t-56 to it...
And if in all honest you want a reasonable handling RWD body on frame car to drag race, if you re-enforce the frame on a G-body it will be just fine. you can actually turn them into decent handling cars to, i seem to remember hotrod or someone turning 1.05 g on skidpad or something stupid after they re-did the suspension.
Personally though. Keep the Z

The woman want's a el camino .. I'd like something I could tow the datsun with if I were to keep it. So the overall plan is to get a full blown race car. Yea it would be nice to have the datsun as a drag car but it's going to be very costly compared to buying a rolling chassis and chucking the 6.0 in it. Even pondering the idea of building the 6.0 (360 cu in) into a 408.. would cost about 2 - 3 grand to do it but we all know there's no replacement for displacement . So to answer the question the LM4 all aluminum 5.3 would go in the el camino to tow the datsun with a 6.0.... Even pondering taking the T56 out of the datsun to replace it with a power glide and put the 6 speed in the el camino ... Many options ahead.

Why build a PG? TH-400 if you're worried about making stupid power, plus three speeds for on road driving if you want. Maybe even a built up 200-4r if you want OD.

I like the 200-R4 idea .. If the car gets gbuilt into a race car like I want It would be a T400 with a massive trans cooler on the front bumper for JDM ness

haha, buy an 80's el camino, you'll get a 200-4r core, rebuild it and you'll be swappin transmissions between the two lol.
